Our Clinical Team:
Ayelet Connell-Giammatteo, PhD, PT, IMT,C is the President and Owner of Integrative Wellness & Physical Therapy in Bloomfield, CT, a wellness center specializing in holistic Physical Therapy, Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT), and nutritional wellness. Ayelet is a Physical Therapist and Certified Integrative Manual Therapist. She has been practicing in the field of IMT for over 15 years. Ayelet received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from The University of Hartford in Connecticut. She received her Doctoral Degree from Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio, focusing in neuropediatrics, with a concentration in autism. Some of Ayelet’s Doctoral research involved a unique charter elementary school, Soaring Heights, in inner city Jersey City, New Jersey. During this research, she investigated the efficacy of Integrative Manual Therapy on young children that presented with challenges in learning, socialization, and behavior. In addition to her IMT expertise, Ayelet is a graduate of the Institute of Functional Medicine’s program “Applying Functional Medicine into Clinical Practice” focusing on nutritional wellness. She has written many articles on the subjects of IMT, healthy living, natural parenting, and nutritional wellness. Ayelet was Dean of the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy (CSIMT) for multiple years. She has taught courses in Integrative Manual Therapy nationally and internationally for over 15 years. Ayelet is also a local of this community and has been living in the Greater Hartford area for many years, where she integrates a healthy lifestyle at home with her wonderful family.
Holly Niles, MS, CNS, LDN, CFSP
Functional Medicine Clinical Nutritionist & Nutrition Director
Holly Niles, MS, CNS, LDN, CFSP is a Functional Medicine Licensed Clinical Nutritionist, Integrative Health Practitioner and Wellness Educator. She brings diversified skills and a lifelong passion for holistic health to Corporate, Clinical, and Private Practice settings. Her more than 25 year career as a hands-on client centered practitioner includes roles as a Certified Instructor of Power Pilates, Kripalu Yoga and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. Holly has extensive training through the Institute of Functional Medicine and experience in alternative medicine and complementary practices including yoga and yoga therapy.
Most recently, she has been working for several years as part of the nutrition team at Dr. Mark Hyman’s Ultra Wellness Center in Lenox, MA. Working with such a diverse client population has deepened her commitment to the art of Functional Medicine. Her approach is to help patients find practical ways to enjoy making healthy changes to create wellness. She believes that not only is our food a key to creating a well-being but that our food is our medicine.
Dr. Joyce Chung Quiros
Doctor of Chiropractic & Acupuncturist
Dr. Chung-Quiros graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Science from the University of Connecticut, a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine from New York Chiropractic College, and a Contemporary Medical Acupuncture certification from McMaster University. She is also a Certified Mei Zen™ Cosmetic Acupuncture Specialist for the face, neck, and abdomen. She is currently the only preferred provider in Connecticut to perform Mei Zen Acupuncture.
She has been practicing both Chiropractic Medicine and Acupuncture since 2003. She is dedicated to improving her patients’ quality of life through balancing chiropractic, acupuncture, nutrition, physiotherapy and exercise in a safe and natural way. As a mother of 2, she is committed to helping families stay healthy and specializes in Pediatrics and Prenatal Care for women. She is an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is a certified practitioner in the Webster Technique. Dr. Chung-Quiros supports the use of both alternative medicine and traditional western medicine to harmoniously reach ones optimal health and wellness.
Dr. Chung-Quiros and her husband are native to the Greater Hartford community. She has two daughters and enjoys running, skiing, hiking, cooking and spending time with her family.
George Giannoni, PT, GDMT, IMT,C is a clinician and serves an advisory role at Integrative Wellness & Physical Therapy. His education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Gettysburg College, a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, and a Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. George earned a Certification in Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT), and has been involved with IMT since it’s inception in 1983. He also completed the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification course. George is a Certified Instructor and Practitioner for Sole Supports® Orthotic Technology. One of his special interests includes the use of Manual Therapies and orthotics in the treatment of spinal, pelvic and lower extremity soft tissue, muscular and biomechanical dysfunctions. George served the Connecticut Physical Therapy Association (CPTA) as a member of the Quality Management and Practice Committee, and as Co-Coordinator of the Private Practice Support Group. In service to his community, George has been a 6 year member of the Board of Directors on the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce. He was also honored to serve the Territory of American Samoa as their Chief Physical Therapist for two years, and accompanied the Samoan team to their first Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. George has contributed as Coach and Team Physical Therapist for numerous hockey, soccer and baseball teams at various youth levels. He has also completed 4 marathons. George brings over 31 years of experience as a practicing therapist to the team at Integrative Wellness & Physical Therapy.
Kris Albrecht, MS, PT, IMT,C is a Primary Advisor and Chief Teaching Faculty at Manual Therapy Seminars and a Clinician at Integrative Wellness & Physical Therapy in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Kris has been practicing and teaching Manual Therapy for over 30 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy, and was a teaching fellow in Gross Anatomy at Boston University. At Rockville General Hospital, Kris designed and implemented the Physical Therapy portion of Heart Minders, a cardiac habilitation program as well as a podiatric orthotic program. She joined the Center for Integrative Manual Therapy / Regional Physical Therapy in 1988, and for nearly three decades has instructed a wide range of Manual Therapy courses nationally and internationally with Dialogues in Contemporary Rehabilitation and The Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy in Bloomfield, CT. She was a test administrator for the Integrative Manual Therapy Certification exam. With a special interest in cranial therapy, neurological issues, and cardiac habilitation, Kris is a gifted lecturer and teaching mentor. She lives with her family in Southington, CT and loves classic rock music, dessert, and turtles.
Carol Gordon, PT, IMT,C, was a founding partner of Regional Physical Therapy, a practice that thrived for three decades with five offices across Connecticut and Massachusetts. She now works at Integrative Wellness & Physical Therapy in Bloomfield, CT and also as a sole practitioner in Glastonbury, CT. Carol holds a degree in Physical Therapy from St. Louis University and is a Certified Integrative Manual Therapy practitioner. In addition to her previous practice, she has been employed as a physical therapist at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT and Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT. Carol has been honored to participate as a guest lecturer at institutions throughout the US, Australia, Canada and Hong Kong teaching Integrative Manual Therapy to post graduate physical therapy students. She enjoys speaking at professional physical therapy conferences and at colleges and universities that specialize in physical therapy.
Alanna Heaney, PT, IMT,C stems from Saratoga Springs, NY. She came to Connecticut to attend Physical Therapy School at University of Hartford (UHA). She graduated from UHA in Jannuary of 2000 with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy. Alanna attended her first manual therapy course, Muscle Energy Technique, while a senior in college and finnished her Physical Therapy program with an internship at Regional Physical Therapy (RPT) and CenterIMT. After her two months of interning, Alanna began studying IMT at a rapid pace, attending over 25 courses in her first year while working at CenterIMT and RPT. She began teaching IMT in September of 2001. Alanna moved to south Florida to act as Practice Manager of CenterIMT Deerfield Beach, FL in 2001 and remained there until 2003 when she moved to CenterIMT D.C. She worked in DC for 2 years until her husband, Brian, and she decided to move to Connecticut to start a family. Alanna currently resides in West Hartford, CT with her husband and her two fun and active boys. In addition to working at Integrative Wellness & Physical Therapy, and spending time with her family, Alanna enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, playing softball, boating and relaxing at the beach.
