The Webster Technique For Pregnancy

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic protocol of sacral adjustments that was developed as a safe means to restore proper pelvic balance and function. It was developed to restore normal physiological function of the mother and improve her comfort throughout pregnancy in preparation for a safer, easier birth. Clinical studies have shown that in women who presented with a breech baby, the results of the adjustment appeared to normalize  pelvic alignment and support optimal baby positioning in the mother’s womb.
This misalignment of the sacrum may cause tightening and twisting of specific pelvic muscles and ligaments.  It is these tense muscles and ligaments and their negative effect on the uterus which may prevent the baby from comfortably assuming the best possible position for birth.
Obstetric research has shown that correct positioning of the baby in-utero affects birth outcome and decreases the potential for undue stress to the baby’s developing spine and nerve system.
Because of this research, it is considered wise that this specific sacral analysis and adjustment be used throughout pregnancy to detect and alleviate sacral imbalance and optimize pelvic alignment.
